Return and exchange Policy


Thank you for shopping with Wind River Outdoor Company! The persons wishing to refund a purchase or exchange a purchase must follow these steps:


  1. All returns, exchanges, or refunds must be made within 14 days of the purchase excepting those purchases made during the time of December 1-24 (the sale had to originally occur during the time from of December 1-24 to apply) are given 30 days for refunds, exchanges due to the nature of gifting during the Holiday Season. 
  2. All returns, refunds, or exchanges must have the original sales receipt of the sale in order to perform this transaction as we need the barcode on the bottom of the receipt in order to process any such transaction. Without this barcode, we cannot perform any refund or exchange.
  3. Any merchandise returned must possess all original price tags and packaging. These materials, along with the item being returned must be in like-new condition otherwise a return or exchange cannot occur. Without these items, we cannot put the item back on the shelf for sale.  
  4. Returned items cannot be in used condition or can they have stains, hair, or odors of any type on the item. If items have these attributes, the item will not be exchanged or refunded.
  5. Items exempt for any refund or exchange are as follows: Firearms, Ammunition, NFA items such as suppressors, Licenses, Rental fees, Service fees, Special orders, Layaways, Gift Cards, All load-bearing items (ropes, climbing accessories), Flies, Fuel, Food items, Sale and Clearance items (yellow tagged items), Reloading components including primers, powders.
  6. Wind River Outdoor Company will happily assist all customers with issues regarding warranty or repairs for any item purchased at Wind River Outdoor Company.
  7. Items purchased with One Stop Rewards bucks cannot be refunded for cash. In this case, we will only perform the return and issue store credit.
  8. Returns of merchandise where the original purchase was made with a check cannot occur until 7 days after the purchase date so as to allow the check to clear the customer’s bank.
  9. Returns will only be made for the amount of the purchase plus applicable taxes. Freight fees will not be refunded if the item was mailed to the customer at their direction.
  10. If returning items by mail, Wind River Outdoor Company will not be responsible for postage or freight in either direction. All return costs are the responsibility of the customer. Wind River Outdoor Company is not responsible for lost, damaged, or late arrival due to acts of 3rd party carrier service.


The steps in the Return & Exchange Policy are strictly enforced and adhered to by Wind River Outdoor Company due to the growing prevalence of return fraud. Please understand that we wish to help every purchaser with issues, however, if the item purchased is damaged or cannot be returned to the vendor or resold then we cannot perform the refund or exchange. Please keep all materials and receipts.


Wind River Outdoor Company reserves the right to change, alter, modify, add or discontinue any such part of this Return & Exchange Policy without notice. Any change to this policy will be reflected on the website of Wind River Outdoor Company and posted at the physical store location(s), plus all receipts have this language referenced on the receipt.

SAVE ALL RECEIPTS, TAGS AND PACKAGING AS RETURNS ARE NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT THESE ITEMS


Wind River Outdoor Company is committed to our customers in that we want our customers to be 100% satisfied with their purchase and experience in shopping.


Return and exchange item(s) must be in their original condition and contain original packaging, tags, and receipt in new condition. Items that are damaged, altered in any way, or missing original packaging and/or tags or have damaged packaging cannot be returned or exchanged and will be returned to the customer after obtaining payment for return shipping costs.

NOTE: All sale, closeout, discounted and/or discontinued items, and all licenses, service fees, and special orders are final and may not be returned or exchanged for any reason. Wind River Outdoor Company is not responsible for lost, damaged, stolen, delayed or other destructive forces on inventory being returned.


For refunds and/or exchanges, you will be credited the amount you paid for the returned and/or exchanged item(s),including taxes. You will not be refunded the original shipping charge applicable to the original purchase.


To initiate a return or exchange, contact us via email BEFORE returning the item so that we may be able to better assist you in this process. DO NOT ship items back to Wind River Outdoor Company without first obtaining a Return Authorization.


If an item is defective or otherwise eligible for warranty, please email us at mail@windriveroutdoorcompany.com and we will work with you to get a manufacturer return authorization so the item(s) can be repaired and returned to you. Shipping costs related to repairs and/or items under warranty may be applicable.



Shipping Policy

All orders received by 2:00 pm Mountain Standard Time (MST) will be shipped the same business day. All orders received after 2:00 pm MST will be shipped the next business day. Customer (You) agree Wind River Outdoor Company is not responsible for shipping delays due to Acts of God (including, but not limited to, severe acts of nature or weather events including floods, fires, or earthquakes), strikes or labor disputes, epidemics, pandemics, acts of governmental authorities (including but not limited to government directives, expropriation, condemnation, and changes in laws and regulations), interruptions, loss, or malfunctions of utilities, communications, or computer (software and hardware) services, or other causes reasonably beyond Wind River Outdoor Company's control.

Customer (You) agrees that Wind River Outdoor Company is not responsible and will not be responsible in any manner for packages that are stolen or otherwise non-locatable after the delivery service (USPS, UPS, FedEx or other delivery carrier) confirms that the customer’s (Your) package has been delivered through their respective tracking systems. Any such theft or loss of a package after it has been shown delivered will be the responsibility of the carrier and the customer (You) to work out. It is strongly encouraged that all customer (Your) purchases be shipped to a location where the customer (You) or someone authorized by the customer (You) can personally take delivery of the product to prevent the theft or loss of packages.

Wind River Outdoor Company will ship orders that exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) free of charge via USPS or through another carrier at the choice of Wind River Outdoor Company. Some exclusions to the free shipping may be present due to size, weight or logistics. These items will be clearly communication to the customer (You) prior to shipping. Expedited shipping is available from FedEx and UPS at an additional cost to the customer (You).

If an item(s) is damaged during shipping, the customer (You) should immediately notify Wind River Outdoor Company at mail@windriveroutdoorcompany.com or via telephone prior to returning the item(s). All shipping damages should be noted with the delivery carrier, photos taken and all materials should be saved so that a claim with the delivery service can cover the loss. Wind River Outdoor Company is not responsible for damaged merchandise, however, we will work with the customer (You) to ensure the carrier reimburses either the customer (You) or the retailer (WROC) for a replacement to be sent to the customer (You).
