Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sales Lead to join our dedicated team. As the Lead Salesman, you will play a crucial role in creating a memorable and outstanding shopping experience for our customers. You'll lead by example on the sales floor, guiding both customers and team members while ensuring that our store maintains high standards of service and product knowledge. Your leadership and passion for the outdoors will directly contribute to the success of Wind River Outdoor Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection, offering expert advice, and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Lead and inspire a team of sales associates, fostering a collaborative, fun, positive, and high-energy store environment.
  • Collaborate with new and existing sales team members on product knowledge, sales techniques, and store policies to ensure top performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product offerings, including outdoor gear, clothing, footwear, and accessories.
  • Help manage the sales floor, ensuring that it is well-organized, stocked, and visually appealing to enhance the customer experience.
  • Assist customers with purchases and product inquiries.
  • Drive sales goals by actively engaging customers, recommending products, and promoting in-store promotions or seasonal sales.
  • Assist with inventory control, including restocking, organizing, and reporting product levels.
  • Provide leadership and support during peak business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Collaborate with the management team to improve sales strategies and contribute to store-wide goals.
  • Stay informed on the latest outdoor gear and apparel trends, ensuring our offerings remain competitive and relevant.

Qualifications

  • Retail sales experience, preferably in outdoor gear, apparel, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring a sales team.
  • Passion for outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, climbing, or skiing, with knowledge of outdoor gear and apparel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with customers and staff.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Proficient with point-of-sale systems and inventory management.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to handle customer concerns with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • A love for Wyoming's outdoor spaces, and familiarity with the Wind River Mountain Range is a plus!

Position Overview

WROC is seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for the outdoors and an eye for trends in outdoor apparel. As the Assistant Buyer / Clothing Buyer, you will support the buying team in the selection, purchasing, and merchandising of outdoor clothing and accessories, ensuring our customers have access to the best products for their outdoor adventures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the selection and purchasing of clothing and outdoor apparel brands that align with the needs of our customer base.
  • Manage and track inventory levels, ensuring product availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to make informed purchasing decisions and optimize product assortments.
  • Help develop and implement visual merchandising strategies to create appealing in-store displays.
  • Provide insights into current market trends and customer preferences, helping shape future buying decisions.
  • Support seasonal buying cycles and plan product launches to maximize sales.
  • Assist with coordinating store merchandising, promotions and seasonal sales events.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors, ensuring timely and efficient product deliveries.
  • Stay current with outdoor apparel innovations, fabric technologies, and sustainability trends.
  • Work closely with the store management team to align product selection with store needs and customer expectations.
  • Assist customers with purchases and product inquiries.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in retail, with a focus on clothing and outdoor apparel preferred.
  • Knowledge of the outdoor industry, outdoor activities, and gear trends.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and basic retail financials.
  • Passion for the outdoors and an understanding of the Wind River Mountains and the surrounding Wyoming region.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
